UK shopping centres were at the forefront when the Maxi Marketing Awards were handed out at the ICSC's recently-held fall convention in New Orleans. The international Maxi Awards recognise the best marketing campaigns from around the world, and five British shopping centres came home bearing trophies.
Gold awards went to Brent Cross and the Paisley Centre, with silver awards going to Brent Cross, thecentre:mk, Milton Keynes, The Mall at Cribbs Causeway and Hempstead Valley in Kent.
Brent Cross won a gold in the public relations category for its 'No Comment' campaign and silver in the sales promotion and events category for its innovative 'Bag A Million' promotion.
The Paisley Centre also collected a gold for its public relations activities, which Maxi chairman Scott R. Schroeder described as "a real masterpiece of creative public relations expertise."
