Midsummer Place in Milton Keynes and thecentre:mk joined forces on October 12 and 13 to host and part fund a massive free public event on a scale never seen in the town before. The 'Light Fantastic' event drove a significant increase in footfall with the busiest Friday and Saturday recorded in 2007 to date.
The centres formed the backdrop for the spectacular light, laser and fire show that attracted record crowds of 50,000 people over the two nights the event was held.
The show included a stunning international aerial show, 'Maudits Sonnants', by French troupe Transe Express. Utilising one of the UK's largest cranes, Transe Express performed their unique show some 100ft over the heads of the public. Both evenings were brought to a close with a son et lumiere show choreographed to a bespoke soundtrack.
