Joe O'Reilly's Castlethorn has unveiled plans for a second phase of development at Dundrum Town Centre, its award-winning mall to the south of Dublin city centre.
Dundrum2 will be a 500,000 sq ft development on the site of the old Dundrum shopping centre, and it will bring the district's total retail offering to in excess of 1.6 million sq ft.
Construction is due to begin in 2008 with completion due in 2011. In addition to the retail content, Dundrum2 will be surrounded by a selection of restaurants, hotels, offices and apartments.
At the same time Chartered Land, another of O'Reilly's vehicles, has agreed heads of terms with Marks & Spencer to anchor the Phase III extension of the Pavilions in Swords, Co. Dublin.
At 130,000 sq ft the store is set to be the largest M&S store in the Republic of Ireland. And according to local press reports House of Fraser has been lined up for the other anchor store of 125,000 sq ft.
