Zara has been confirmed for the new Phase II extension in the Pavilions shopping centre, Swords, which is now 75 per cent let. The Spanish fashion brand is to occupy approximately 1,400 sq m of space over two levels.
Other occupiers in Phase II will include Champion Sports, Esprit, Diesel, Du Pareil au Meme, Butlers Chocolates, Body Shop and Yo! Sushi among others. Existing traders in Pavilions include Dunnes Stores, Superquinn, A-wear, Mango, HMV and Benetton. The opening of the 11-screen cinema in December 2006 has had an extremely positive impact on footfall ahead of the opening of Phase II this autumn.
The centre was purchased last year by Joe O'Reilly's Chartered Land, which is the main developer of the scheme. In April last year IPUT & Irish Life purchased a 50 per cent investment stake. As part of the Phase II development agreement has been reached to link into the adjoining Swords Central shopping centre which is anchored by Penneys. The scheme is being developed by Mall - a joint venture between Pierse Group and Duignan McCarthy - and will comprise a mixed use development including 14 retail units and 125 residential apartments.
Pavilions shopping centre is being marketed by Bannon. Swords Central joint agents are CBRE and Jones Lang LaSalle.
