Manchester's fashionistas flocked to the Triangle shopping centre last month to watch the final of North West Young Designer of the Year.
Ten of the best graduate designers had been selected from universities across the north-west, including UCLAN and Manchester Metropolitan, to showcase their fresh talent at the Triangle. The budding designers were competing for the lucrative prize of having their collections housed at the Triangle's Unique Boutique for three months alongside those of more established professionals - a perfect launch-pad to establish their names and kick-start their careers.
After a painstaking deliberation period by the expert judging panel, which included Loui Batley from Hollyoaks, Amechi Llenacho, fashion editor at Flux magazine and Nick Cook, editor at Menswear Buyer, a winner and two highly commended designers were finally announced.
The fantastic prize was awarded to Liam Evens from Manchester Metropolitan University. Liam's winning designs were modelled by future catwalk queen and star of Britain's Next Top Model, Rebecca White.
