UBS Triton has leased the 1,001-sq ft Unit 29 in the Pavilions shopping centre to Azendi on a 10-year lease at £85,000 pa. Kitchen la Frenais Morgan and Rowley Hughes Thompson were letting agents and Dresler Smith advised the tenant.

Warner Estate has let a 1,423-sq ft unit in the Pallasades shopping centre to Easy Fashion on a 15-year lease at £55,000 pa. Wright Silverwood was letting agent.

Standard Life Investments has taken a surrender of Oddbins' lease at Unit A1 on the Colchester retail park. The 3,957-sq ft unit has been re-let on a new 15-year lease to Maplin Electronics at £106,839 pa, equating to £27 per sq ft. Standard Life was advised by Edgerley Simpson Howe & Partners. The Co-Operative Group has let a 31,090-sq ft store at 11 South Mall in The Plaza shopping centre to New Look. A 15-year lease has been agreed at £450,000 pa. Hamilton Glen and CBRE are letting agents and Culverwell advised the tenant.

The Perfume Shop has taken an 807-sq ft unit on the Kinnaird retail park on a 10-year lease at £52,500 pa. Harper Dennis Hobbs advised the tenant.

Clockwork Orange has taken the 1,800-sq ft Unit G on the Erneside retail park on a 15-year lease at £70,000 pa. Landlord Diageo Pensions Trust was represented by BTWShiells and Osborne King represented the tenant.

Morley has agreed two new deals at Kings Walk shopping centre. Fashion retailer Animal has taken Unit 18, totalling 2,150 sq ft, on a new 10-year lease at £100,000 pa. And computer and video game retailer CEX has taken Units 34-38, totalling 5,327 sq ft, on a new 10-year lease, at £110,000 pa. Strutt & Parker and Cushman & Wakefield were letting agents. Larkman Edgecumbe advised Animal and Johnson Fellows advised CEX.

Gamestation has taken Unit 13, Hamilton Gate in The Oak Mall shopping centre on a new 10-year lease at an initial rent of £78,100 pax. Williams Gunter Hardwick represented Gamestation, and Eric Young & Co was letting agent.

Costa Coffee has leased Unit 132c in the Potteries shopping centre from Capital Shopping Centres for a 10-year term at £67,500 pa. The unit provides 1,668 sq ft. Lunson Mitchenall was letting agent and Fawley Watson Booth advised the tenant.

Poundstretcher has sub-underlet the former WEW unit at Unit 5, King George Avenue retail park, Newbury Park, to Carpets 4 Less. The 8,294-sq ft unit has been taken on a new sub-underlease expiring in March 2017 at a rent of £89,155 pa. Poundland has taken a new 10-year lease at 5/7 College Walk in the Airedale shopping centre from PropInvest. The commencing rent is £175,000 pa. The property provides 4,500 sq ft of ground floor sales space and 2,000 sq ft of storage space. Poundland was represented by Jones Retail and Propinvest by Churston Heard.


? KIDDERMINSTER

Standard Life Investments has divided the former Klaussner unit on the Crossley retail park in two. Unit G1, comprising 5,080 sq ft, has been taken by Homestyle Group, trading as Bensons Beds, on a 10-year lease at £110,000 pa or £21.65 per sq ft after a 4.5 month rent free period. And Unit G2, comprising 4,906 sq ft, has been let to Maplin Electronics on a new 15-year lease at £110,385 pa or 22.50 per sq ft after a six-month rent free period. Edgerley Simpson Howe & Partners was letting agent. Robert Bebington & Company advised Maplin. Stephen Smart & Co advised Benson Beds.

Genova North West has let two units at the Crescent Link retail park. Marks & Spencer Simply Food has taken the 7,500-sq ft Unit 17a at £157,500 pa, equating to £21 per sq ft. And Starbucks has taken the 1,800- sq ft Unit 7b on a 15-year lease, with a break option at year 10, at £63,000 pa, equating to £35 per sq ft. BTWShiells is letting agent. Osborne King advised Starbucks and CBRE M&S.


? MIDDLESBROUGH

The Mall has let 2,120 sq ft at 3/6 Newton Mall to Costa Coffee on a 10-year lease at £75,000 pa. Fawley Watson Booth was letting agent.


? SHEFFIELD

London & Associated Properties has pre-let 45,000 sq ft at the Orchard Square shopping centre to TK Maxx at £625,000 pa. Lane Walker is letting agent.


? Hemel Hempstead

Standard Life Investments has let two new units at The Marlowes, previously occupied by Littlewoods. New Look will occupy the 20,000-sq ft ground floor unit on a 15-year lease at £325,000 pa. And Sports World has expanded from its existing unit to take 20,000 sq ft on the first floor. Standard Life was advised by Strutt & Parker and Churston Heard and CBRE represented New Look.



? MANCHESTER

Jake Shoes has moved into the upper floor of the the new Arndale extension. The unit provides 1,363 sq ft of ground floor sales space with a 1,205-sq ft mezzanine. A new 10-year lease has been agreed at a commencing rental of £155,000 pax. Tushingham Moore acted on behalf of the landlord, Prupim, while Edwards & Co represented the tenant.



? PORTSMOUTH

Bench & Hooch, the men and women's urban lifestyle brand owned by Americana International is to open at Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth Harbour. Bench and Hooch has taken a 2,077 sq ft unit on a 10-year lease. Head Retail and twentyretail are joint letting agents for Gunwharf Quays.


victoria square welcomes topshop

Arcadia's Topshop has been confirmed as the final anchor tenant at Multi Development's £320m Victoria Square scheme in Belfast city centre.

The fashion brand is taking a 40,000 sq ft two-level unit at the William Street South entrance to the scheme. The space was at one time allocated for Marks & Spencer, but now it will become Topshop's largest store in Ireland when the brand relocates from its existing premises on Donegall Place.

Richard Green, Multi Development's leasing manager, said: "Topshop will complement the up-market retail mix on the lower ground floor, which houses high-end fashion stores like Cruise, Reiss, L K Bennett and All Saints as well as sitting comfortably with high street retailers on the upper ground floor like H&M, Urban Outfitters, Billabong and River Island."

Victoria Square will open in March 2008. DTZ is letting agent.
