Westfield and Hermes have unveiled plans for an 800-seat café court in the heart of the new £340m Westfield Derby, opening on 9 October.
With a range of international favourites, London-based specialists and local independents, a total of 12 food operators will be joining Westfield Derby -Hamburger Union, Sumo Salad, Hana Puri, Pepitos, Yangtze Express, Yangtze Thai Noodle Bar, Pieminister, Nincomsoup, Hey Potato, KFC, Pasta 4 U and Quiznos. Most of the operators will feature open plan kitchens and grills, which will create a 'food theatre' dynamic that is both entertaining and allows people to watch their food being prepared. David Slade, director of leasing at Westfield, said: "I believe we have created something really special at Derby which will hopefully change the traditional 'food court' mentality."
