Land Securities and Capital Shopping Centres kicked off the marketing for their million-sq ft St David's 2 project in Cardiff with a Welsh-themed event at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.
The menu featured Welsh lamb, Welsh salmon and that Welsh delicacy, lava bread.
The guest speaker was Welsh legend Jonathan Davies who spoke entertainingly of his glory days playing for Wales and of the time he went over to the 'dark side' to play rugby league as a professional. He also made a convincing case for Cardiff as a place to live, work and shop.
The developers then unveiled their new marketing campaign for the development. Just as Modus has dropped its shocking pink theme for Grand Arcade in Wigan now that the centre has opened, St David's has picked up the concept and is running with it hard - a bit like Jonathan Davies used to.
