The EFM FACILITIES team in London has expanded with the appointment of RICHARD CASTILLO as head of IT to bolster the group's support services. He joins EFM Facilities from ITD UK and brings with him 10 years of IT experience including operational support and training skills.


LUNSON MITCHENALL has recruited JASON HAXTON as a rent review surveyor. He moves from CWM where he spent five years.


PHOTO-ME INTERNATIONAL has promoted TONY PEIRCE from UK general manager to chief operating officer (UK operations).


JAMIE HART has joined LEE BARON as head of rating, taking over responsibility for all business rate appeals for retained clients across their portfolios. ROGER GIFFORD has been promoted to head of property management accounting, managing a sizeable property accounts team, located in north London and the Oxford Circus offices. And building surveyor JOHN MCDONAGH has been promoted to associate.


STRUTT & PARKER has appointed BRIAN RAGGETT as a partner specialising in strategic planning and development consultancy. Previously with CBRE for over 20 years, he was president of the Royal Town Planning Institute in 1999 and is now chairman of the BCSC's government affairs committee. In addition Strutt & Parker has appointed GARETH LOCHADEN as senior surveyor to its retail agency team, where he will specialise as a shopping centre and out-of-town agent. He joins from Dublin-based Savills Hamilton Osborne King.


TIGER DEVELOPMENTS has made two new appointments to its board. MARK BRODRICK has been appointed European investment director. He joined from Jones Lang LaSalle two years ago and has led the company's drive into Europe, with particular focus on Germany and the Baltic states. And MARTIN CLAISSE becomes UK investment director. He has been at Tiger since 2002 and has been responsible for its portfolio acquisition and disposal programme.


PATRICK HARRIS has joined the agency team at TWENTYRETAIL. He has joined from Willmotts, where he was head of the retail and restaurant department.


CWM has promoted CLARE DUTTON and NATALIE LINTOTT in the agency department and XHOLA MCKOY in the London villages department to associate partner.


ING has appointed INGE JOHNSON as the new centre manager of The Gates shopping centre in Durham. She has worked at The Gates for over three years and since 2006 she has been deputy centre manager.

CB RICHARD ELLIS has bolstered the planning team at its West End office, with the appointment of eight new planning consultants, increasing the team to over 35 strong. PAUL WILLMOTT joins as a director from the Redbourne Group, where he was the planning director. Supporting him is associate director NICK BELSTEN and graduate LIZ GOMES. Within the retail and leisure planning teams, ALEX ABBOTT joins as a senior planner from Sport England. SOPHIE EVANS joins from the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham and EMMA DAVIES from Basingstoke and Dean Borough Council, both as planners. And LEE SWAN joins as a senior planner from Indigo Planning. CAROLINE HARPER joins CBRE as a graduate planner.


SAVILLS has expanded its retail team in Manchester with the appointment of associate director MIKE KNOWLES. He joins from GVA Grimley.


EDGERLEY SIMPSON HOWE & PARTNERS has made two appointments as it seeks to strengthen its position as a leading adviser in the UK retail warehouse market. DUNCAN GOOD, formerly a partner at Strutt & Parker, is to join ESHP as a partner in the investment team, while JASON HOLDEN has been appointed an associate in the agency department. He joins from Chase & Partners.


National design and fit-out specialist, SPACETAILORS, has appointed a new contracts manager, PAUL PAPANDREOU, to support the management team following a series of new contract wins. He has previously worked for Kingerlee Construction and J Harper & Sons.


JULIAN JOSEPHS has taken office as World President of FIABCI, The International Real Estate Federation. He has over 30 years of experience in international real estate, compiling his own real estate portfolio and acting as senior vice president for US shopping centre developer, manager and investor, Madison Marquette.


SAMANTHA LAYCOCK has joined Bedford's HARPUR CENTRE with specific responsibility for security, health & safety and the maintenance teams, as well as overseeing the smooth running of the shopping centre on a daily basis. For the past two years she has worked as the store manager at JJB Sports based in the Harpur Centre.


NB REAL ESTATE, formerly Nelson Bakewell, has appointed CLAIRE FRAZERHURST as an associate in the property management corporate non-operational team. She joins NB from DTZ where she worked for 18 months.


Manager of the month

Diana Golding, a Freeman of the city of York, is the new manager of Spring Gardens shopping centre in Buxton. She comes to Spring Gardens from her home town of York, where she was appointed centre manager of the city's Coppergate shopping centre, home to the world famous Jorvik Viking Centre, in 1998.

During her time at the Coppergate centre, she was director and subsequently president of the York and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, a director of the City Centre Partnership, and worked with the York Tourism Bureau and as a trustee of Shopmobility. Diana also served as a member of the Conservation Areas Advisory Panel and as a local secondary school governor as well as chairing the local retail crime reduction partnership, 'Retailers Against Crime in York'.

Diana said: "I'm thrilled to join the team at Spring Gardens. I have moved to Buxton at a very exciting time. The redevelopment of the Crescent will put Buxton well and truly on the world map and there are opportunities to really use the Pavilion Gardens to their maximum potential.

"I am really looking forward to meeting all the people who work here at the centre. I hope that over time I can assist the Spring Gardens to play a larger role in the community, especially in offering help to local groups and charities," Diana added.

She will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the centre and forms part of the proactive management team designed to move the centre forward in the coming years.

Spring Gardens offers an extensive range of leading high street retailers including Waitrose, New Look, Next, Tchibo and Thorntons.
