? Chorley

RREEF has let Units 2 and 9/10 in the Market Walk shopping centre to Costa Coffee at £36,000 pa. The unit has a ground floor area of 1,073 sq ft with 643 sq ft at first floor. Keenan & Company was letting agent and Legat Owen advised the tenant.


? Clydebank

AXA Investment Managers has recently let two units at the Clyde shopping centre. Unit 8b Carinthia Way, providing 458 sq ft, has been let to Zumo Juice Bars for 10 years at £18,000 pa. And 57 Sylvania Way, providing 1,462 sq ft, has been let to Gamestation for 10 years at £66,300 pa. AXA was represented jointly by Eric Young & Co and DTZ.


? Darlington

Moorfield Group has agreed two lettings at the Cornmill shopping centre. A 1,822-sq ft unit has been let to Caversham Trading on a 10-year lease at £63,000 pa, and around 400 sq ft has been let to Szeto, an independent retailer, on a five-year lease at £34,500pa. DTZ represented Moorfield Group on both lettings


? Edinburgh

British Land has let Unit 3A, Fort Kinnaird, to WH Smith and Monsoon. The landlord agreed a surrender of WH Smith's original lease and split the unit into two new units of 6,329 sq ft each before reletting them on 10-year leases. WH Smith's rental is £52.50 psf and Monsoon's £55 psf. At the same time Unit 35A has been let to Starbucks. The unit comprises a gross internal area of 1,015 sq ft and has been let for 10 years at £108,000 pa. Both WH Smith and Monsoon were represented by Donaldsons. British Land was represented jointly by Eric Young & Co, Morgan Williams and Montagu Evans.


? Harlow

The Sapphire Retail Fund has leased a 900-sq ft unit in the Harvey Centre to 3UK for 10 years at a commencing rent of £61,000 pa after three months rent free. The rent equates to £100 zone A. King Sturge and Savills are letting agents.


? Manchester

Noodle specialist Tampopo is taking its second Manchester unit, acquiring Unit 2 at The Triangle. The 3,400-sq ft unit has its own entrance off Exchange Square and has been taken on a new 15-year lease at £62,000 pa. Landlord Norwich Property Trust was represented by Tushingham Moore and Bradys represented the tenant.


? Newcastle Under Lyme

The Atmore Group has let Unit 15, Castle Walk to Carphone Warehouse. The property provides 1,706 sq ft on ground floor and 995 sq ft on first. A new 10-year lease was agreed at £70,000 pa. Carphone Warehouse was represented by Briant Champion Long and the Atmore Group by Legat Owen.


? Northwich

Modus has let Unit A on the Chester Way retail park, which totals 16,169 sq ft, to Pets at Home. The retailer has agreed a new 15-year lease at £307,211 pa which equates to £19 psf. Modus was represented by Savills and Mowbray Gill. Pets at Home was advised by Berkley Brown.


? Sheffield

Hammerson has let a store at Drakehouse retail park to Homebase. The DIY retailer has agreed a new 20-year lease on Unit B, which totals 30,000 sq ft, with a further 10,000 sq ft of space for a garden centre. Homebase has agreed an annual rent of £720,000 pa, equating to £18 psf. Hammerson was advised by Savills and Homebase was represented by Hill Woolhouse.


? Swansea

UBS Global Asset Management has let Unit 20C Whitewalls in Swansea to Lush Retail. The cosmetics and toiletries retailer has taken the 718-sq ft unit on a new 10-year lease at £61,500 pa. The landlord was advised by Capital Retail and Nash Bond advised Lush.


? Wakefield

Sky TV has secured a second 10-year lease with the Moorfield Group for a mall unit within The Ridings shopping centre at £45,000pa. Managing agent, Plus Shops, represented Moorfield Group.


? Wrexham

Diageo Pension Fund has agreed a surrender of the existing Odeon cinema lease at Plas Coch retail park, and re-let the space to JJB Sports. The sportswear and equipment retailer will take the 25,000-sq ft unit on a new 25-year lease at an initial rent of £450,000 pa. Savills advised the landlord.


? Cardiff

Moorfield Group has leased a prominently located unit of more than 470 sq ft in the Capitol shopping centre to 3 Store on a 10-year lease at £85,000 pa. Moorfield was represented by Kitchen Le Frenais Morgan.



? MIDDLETON

Gamestation has acquired Unit G14 in the Middleton shopping centre, providing 1,259 sq ft of ground floor sales, with rear and first floor ancillary, by way of an assignment of an existing 15-year lease from September 1999. The current passing rental is £45,000 pax. Williams Gunter Hardwick represented Gamestation, while the assignor, Ponden Mill, was represented by Mason Owen.



? Warrington

Bank has acquired Unit SU41 in the Golden Square extension. The unit provides 3,939 sq ft with a 1,500-sq ft mezzanine and a new 10-year lease has been agreed at £207,000 pa. Lend Lease was represented by Lunson Mitchenall and Tushingham Moore and Bradys represented Bank.


Hammerson signs four at The Oracle

Hammerson has refreshed its fashion line-up at The Oracle, its 750,000-sq ft retail and leisure destination in the centre of Reading, taking advantage of store closures to introduce new brands.

Reiss is to open a 3,638-sq ft unit at The Oracle's Holybrook Mall, strengthening the mall's concentration of high-end retailers. Hobbs and Sunglass Hut have also opened there recently.

Lifestyle brand Ben Sherman is opening a 2,150-sq ft store on The Oracle's upper mall in a unit formerly occupied by Kookai. And in Town Walk Mall, which links The Oracle to Reading's prime retail pitch on Broad Street, Base Menswear will be opening a 1,636-sq ft store in the former Natural World unit. The former Allsports store has also been reconfigured to create two new units, with Hotel Chocolat taking a 1,500-sq ft unit.

And Krispy Kreme is a new arrival at The Oracle Riverside, the waterside leisure and restaurant destination.
