Manager of the month

Poole's Dolphin shopping centre, part of the Grosvenor Shopping Centre Fund and managed by Jones Lang LaSalle, has welcomed Jerry Stampfer as the new centre manager. Boasting nearly 10 years shopping centre management experience, he takes up the position from Steven Connolly, who moved to become centre director of Festival Place, Basingstoke, late last year.

Taking up his new position in early May, Stampfer said: "It's great to be welcomed so warmly into such a highly-professional, friendly team. I join the Dolphin shopping centre and the thriving town of Poole at a really exciting time, not only with the impressive regeneration that is taking place but also with the fantastic prospects ahead for the future development of the centre. I look forward to settling in and getting to know the local community properly."

Stampfer joins the Dolphin shopping centre management team from the Mall Marlands in Southampton, where he held the position of general manager for over five years. Only recently in 2006, he guided the Marlands' centre through a £2.7m remodelling of the main entrance, where the centre successfully continued trading and the works were completed in just six months.

Prior to the Mall Marlands, Stampfer was the centre manager at the Broadwalk, a community shopping centre in Bristol for over four years.

With over 100 stores, from the best names on the high street to leading independent retailers, Stampfer says he is looking forward to the challenge of taking the Dolphin shopping centre towards celebrating its 40th birthday in 2009, and beyond. He joins the dedicated management team of deputy centre manager, David Pickett, centre administrator Lisa King and operations manager, Jeff Manning.
