? Andover

Axa Real Estate Investment Managers has agreed two new lettings at The Chantry shopping centre. 45 Chantry Way has been let to Vision Express on a new 10-year FRI lease at a commencing rental of £46,000 pax. And 71 Chantry Way, formerly occupied by Card Warehouse, has been re-let to Game on a new 10-year FRI lease at a commencing rental of £57,000 pax. Axa was advised by Smith Price. CBRE represented Vision Express and Lunson Mitchenall advised Game.


? Ashford

UBS Global Asset Management has let Kiosk 3 at the Park Mall shopping centre to Zing Bar. The juice bar has taken the 380-sq ft unit on a new five-year lease at £14,000 pa. Capital Retail is letting agent for Park Mall.


? Bishop Auckland

Ravenhill Estate has let the mall café at the Newgate shopping centre to Mochi, trading as Esquires Coffee House, on a 10-year lease at £27,500pa. The unit comprises 1,000 sq ft of trading space. Savills is letting agent and Brassington Rowan advised Mochi.


? Burgess Hill

Julian Graves has taken an assignment of an existing lease, expiring in December 2016, on Unit 30, Market Place shopping centre, at a nil premium. The property offers 1,100 sq ft of ground floor sales together with ancillary space, and the passing rent is £21,300 pa with a rent review outstanding. Bury & Powter advised the assignee and Wadham & Isherwood the assignor, Illumination Cards.


? Cheltenham

Two major lettings have been achieved at the mixed-use Brewery scheme. Habitat has taken a three-storey, 30,000 sq ft unit on a new 15-year lease at over £400,000 pa. And Dwell Retail has acquired a 16,000 sq ft two-storey outlet on a 15-year lease at £250,000 pa. Salmon Harvester Properties was represented by Hartnell Taylor Cook while Harper Dennis Hobbs advised Habitat.


? Ellesmere Port

Equitable Life has let Sub Unit C, Unit F at The Coliseum, Cheshire Oaks to Costa on a 15-year lease with a tenant's break option in year 10 at £53,550 pa. The unit provides 1,290 sq ft. Tushingham Moore was letting agent and Legat Owen advised the tenant.


? HUNTINGDON

Churchmanor Estates has negotiated the surrender of the former Music Zone lease at Unit 4, St Germain Walk and re-let the property to Superdrug. The retailer has agreed a new 15-year lease on the 5,000-sq ft property and will pay an average annual rent of £98,000 pa. Churchmanor was advised by Savills. Superdrug was represented by Mason & Partners.


? Liverpool

Land Securities has let 22/23 Dawson Way in the St Johns shopping centre, providing 3,604 sq ft, to Perfecthome on a new five-year lease at £122,000 pa. Legat Owen was letting agent and DTZ Debenham Tie Leung advised the tenant.


? Milton Keynes

Frontier Estates has agreed three new lettings at The Hub, its mixed-use development. SK:N, offering innovative cosmetic, laser and skincare treatments, has acquired a 2,567-sq ft outlet on a new 15-year lease. In addition, estate and letting agency Oak Hill has taken a 10-year lease on a 2,884 sq ft store, while specialist bridal shop Once In A Life Time has acquired a 2,147 sq ft unit on a new 15-year lease. Letting agents MVG and Patrick Punch & Co are quoting rents for the remaining units based on £40 psf.


? Nottingham

JSR Properties has agreed the letting of two units in its Glasshouse development. 47 Union Road has been let to Gareth Gordon on a new 10-year lease at a commencing rental of £6,500pax. The unit comprises of a ground floor sales area of 403 sq ft and a first floor mezzanine of 403 sq ft. And 1,552 sq ft at 49 Union Road has been let to Mansion Hong on a new 10-year lease at a commencing rental of £12,500pax. Fisher Hargreaves Proctor is letting agent.


? Sutton Coldfield

Standard Life Investments has secured two new lettings at its Princess Alice Retail Park. Holiday Hypermarket has surrendered its lease on Unit E. The unit has been split into two to make Unit E1, comprising 5,000 sq ft let on a new 18-year lease to Holiday Hypermarket at £175,000 pa. The remaining 6,049 sq ft Unit E2 has been let to Pets at Home on a new 18-year lease at £211,715 pa. Both rents equate to £35 psf. The landlord was advised by Edgerley Simpson Howe & Partners and Johnson Fellows advised Holiday Hypermarket.


? Swindon

Brunel Unit Trust has accepteed the surrender of Wallis' lease at 84 Regent Street and re-let the unit to La Senza. The underwear retailer has agreed a new 10-year lease on the unit, which totals approximately 1,630 sq ft on the ground floor with 1,430 sq ft in the basement, at £179,000 pa. Brunel Unit Trust was advised by Savills and Capital Retail, and Wallis was represented by Macarthur Wilson.


? Wakefield

Moorfield Group has let 75 Cathedral Walk in the Ridings shopping centre, providing 270 sq ft of sales space and 46 sq ft of ancillary space, to Newspoint on a 15-year FRI lease at £21,500 pax. Kitchen La Frenais Morgan is letting agent.


? Weston Super Mare

Julian Graves has negotiated a new 10-year lease on Unit SU29 in the Sovereign shopping centre at £61,000 pa with a three month rent free period. The property offers 1,100 sq ft of ground floor retail space and 300 sq ft at first floor. Bury & Powter advised Julian Graves and GVA Grimley and Churston Heard were joint agents on behalf of Phoenix Life and Pensions.


? Wolverhampton

London & Cambridge Properties has let Unit 65, 13b Cleveland Street in the Wulfrun shopping centre to Phonezone Communications on a 3-year lease at £8,500 pa. The unit totals 801 sq ft. Churston Heard & Tromans & Co are letting agents.


? Basingstoke

Grosvenor has achieved its first £200+ zone A tone deal at Festival Place. Virgin Media has taken a 2,130 sq ft store on Hollins Walk in the centre at the record rent. At the same time outdoor clothing brand, Trespass, has taken a 3,750-sq ft store on the centre's lower level, Wesley Walk.



? Solihull

Two new retailers have taken space at Touchwood, Lend Lease's 650,000-sq ft shopping and entertainment destination. Foot Asylum, selling premium branded footwear, which has taken a 3,098-sq ft unit, and H20, the car valet service, has taken a unit at the Orange Welcome Hall in the car park. Zone A rents in the centre currently exceed £215 psf, and the centre reported 7 per cent sales growth for the first quarter of 2007.



? Woking

Australian salad chain SumoSalad has taken its first UK store and announced plans for nationwide expansion. The brand has taken a 1,000-sq ft unit at the Peacocks Centre in Woking on a new 10-year lease at £32,000 pa. SumoSalad aims to open six stores this year in high street and shopping centre locations initially in the south-east through Harper Dennis Hobbs.


Leeds

International fashion designer Paul Smith has taken a 4,035 unit at 17-19 King Edward Street in the 220,000-sq ft Victoria Quarter at a rent of £162,000 pa. And celebrity hair stylist Nicky Clarke has just opened a 2,500 sq ft unit at 9 King Edward Street at £86,100 pa. King Sturge and Fawley Watson Booth are letting agents on behalf of Bank of Ireland Private Banking. Western Ridge acted for Nicky Clarke and Koopman's Surveyors acted for Paul Smith.
