Shopping centre events agency Promotion Space has secured new financial backing from Octopus Private Equity that will allow it to expand into new lines of business as it looks to become a full-service shopping centre marketing company.

The new investment will be used to expand the retail merchandising unit (RMU) side of the business, offering a bespoke service to venues throughout the country. It is also rolling out Centre Mobile, which allows centre management to communicate directly with consumers.

CEO Steve Hughes said: "We are delighted to have secured this investment from Octopus, which will allow us to accelerate the pace of growth at Promotion Space. We are already seeing great results in our recently launched RMU service, maximising RMU occupancy and improving retail standards. We'll be looking, with this investment, to expand to many more centres in the coming months."
