Berkeley Commercial is releasing the final retail phase at Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth ahead of schedule in April 2007.
The seven units - providing 10,000 sq ft of flexible retail space in the heart of Land Securities' 1.5-million sq ft development - form part of the scheme's East Side Plaza. In addition, East Side Plaza will include over 300 new residential units in a 30-storey tower, the tallest under construction on the south coast.
Andrew Lewis, commercial director at Berkeley Commercial said: "We are delighted to have brought forward the completion date for these units which will now allow the occupiers to open in time to enjoy a successful summer at the scheme. We have received considerable interest and are in advanced negotiations with brands keen to join the thriving retail and restaurant community at Gunwharf Quays."
Joint letting agents are Head Retail and twentyretail.
At the same time rapidly-growing restaurant group London Brasseries is set to open its third site in as many months after signing up for a 3,058-sq ft waterfront unit at Gunwharf. Scheduled to open in April 2007, the unit will trade as The Waterfront Brasserie.
