For the second time, Parkex International has teamed up with Traffex and EWx (the External Works Exhibition) to create a wide-ranging event to be held at the Birmingham NEC from April 17 to 19. The sell-out Parkex show alone will bring together more than 100 companies from the UK, Europe and as far afield as China, Iran, Korea and Australia to meet their peers and discuss innovation and best practice. BPA chief executive Keith Banbury says: "These three exhibitions have been co-located to maximise the quality of experience for our visitors and better utilise their valuable time out of the office.

"As the events have a natural synergy, we hope that both exhibitors and visitors will gain valuable information and leave with stronger contacts."

In 2005, the bi-annual parking exhibition saw 11,000 visitors travel to Birmingham and Parkex International 2007 is on track to exceed expectations. This year's exhibitors will include companies dealing in everything from car park refurbishment to enforcement to car park access and security.

USL StructureCare (Stand P26) will be exhibiting its usual range of services, such as mechanical movement joints, waterproof coatings and anti-carbonation coatings, but it will also be spreading the message about its strategic move from a specialist company to a more diverse operation offering all items associated with car park refurbishment.

Legion Parking Services (Stand P55) will be launching its Managed Enforcement and Controlled Charging Service designed to assist organisations in managing their car parks. The new service will be of particular interest to retailers and shopping centres encountering problems with unauthorised use of their car parks. Legion will also be showcasing the Skyguard Lone Worker Protection Service, which combines the latest GPS and mobile phone technology to pinpoint the precise location of the emergency caller.

Linpac Environmental (Stand P70) will be exhibiting its Heritage, Sentinel, Woburn and Regency bollard ranges, which have been redesigned and relaunched to comply with DDA guidelines.

General manager Simon Knights says: "We believe that Linpac is leading the way with this initiative, as far as we are aware our competitors do not offer rotationally moulded bollards which are DDA compliant."

WPS (Stand P71) will be exhibiting its pay-on-foot and enforcement parking solutions. The company's automated parking system consists of facilities such as Pay by Mobile, Chip and Pin, and video and voice communication linked to a local or central control room. Bar code technology is also the basis for high quality low-maintenance costs supported by a national service team.

In addition, there will also be topical seminars being held at the showcase theatre. These seminars will be hosted by various industry spokespeople and established companies, and will debate the 'hot topics'. And as well as the showcase theatre, the traffic and parking exhibition will consist of the Smart Moving Conference, hosted by ITS-UK. The conference will give delegates ample opportunity to learn, be enthused and be entertained through issue-led discussions.

The first session, chaired by Mike McDonald, chairman of ITS-UK will feature a keynote address from Dr Stephen Ladyman MP, Minister for Transport, as well as a thought-provoking talk on Road User Charging delivered by Steve Norris, president of ITS-UK. The first day will conclude with a welcome reception at 5.30pm where delegates will be able to enjoy time to network and discuss the day's proceedings.

Attendance is free of charge and it is advised that you pre-register online to secure your pass. For more information, visit [http://www.parkex.co.uk]
