Cardinal Place, Land Securities' £200m mixed-use development at Victoria in London, has won the supreme award at the BCSC Golds held at London's Grosvenor House.

The redevelopment of the former Stag brewery site provides 101,350 sq ft of retail space in 16 units, anchored by a 40,000-sq ft Marks & Spencer store.

The scheme also includes significant office and residential elements and was designed to open up new views across Victoria Street to Westminster Cathedral.

Neil Varnham, chairman of the eight-strong BCSC awards jury said: "Cardinal Place sets a benchmark for integrated design of retail, residential, office, leisure and public realm space. It also marks a significant regeneration of the Victoria area in London. The jury considered that this project was not just worthy of a Gold but that it took integration to a new level." The only other supreme award went to Kurt Geiger for the shopfit of its new store at Milligan's Metquarter in Liverpool. Primark was voted Retailer of the Year by the BCSC membership.
