Bhs has been confirmed as a second anchor store to Modus' 450,000 sq ft Delamere Place development in Crewe town centre. The signing of the 40,000 sq ft Bhs follows a 95,000 sq ft letting to Debenhams earlier this year.
In addition to the retail element the scheme will offer 200 apartments, 50,000 sq ft of offices, cafes and restaurants and transport improvements.
Modus director Tim Heatley said: "The arrival of Bhs is a great addition to the already fantastic line up, which includes, M&S and Debenhams. We are hoping these large signings will help to reverse leakage to surrounding towns. In terms of tenant demand you couldn't ask for a more reassuring amount of positive interest." Work is due to start early 2008 with completion the end of 2010. Lunson Mitchenall, King Sturge and Tushingham Moore are the letting agents.
