Ravehill Estates, advised by Savills, has let Unit 6 at the Newgate shopping centre to Card Warehouse. The unit, which totals 1,467 sq ft, has been let on a new 10-year lease at £38,000 pa. The tenant was represented by Capital Retail.

Shutopia has taken a 5,000 sq ft unit at Borehamwood shopping park, at £32.00 psf. Landlord HUT was represented by Wilkinson Williams and Harvey Spack Field. Shutopia was represented by CB Richard Ellis.

Merrill Lynch Property Fund, advised by Savills, has let Unit 19, in the Clifton Down shopping centre, to The Bristol Residential Letting Company. The unit, totalling 916 sq ft, has been let on a new 10-year lease at £25,000 pa.

Hawkin's Bazaar has acquired 1,635 sq ft at 35 The Glades by way of a new five-year full repairing and insuring lease. The initial rent is £125,000 pax. Williams Gunter Hardwick represented Hawkin's Bazaar, while the landlord, CSC, was represented by Lunson Mitchenall.

Hutchison 3G has taken the former Morgan unit in Gravel Walk within the Whitefriars shopping centre on a 10-year lease at an initial rent of £170,000 pa. The unit totals 1,616 sq ft. Leslie Furness and Cushman & Wakefield acted for Land Securities while Michael Peddar & Company represented Hutchison 3G.

Standard Life has let Unit 2a at County Oak Retail Park to Hobbycraft, following the surrender of the original lease to Carpetright. The arts and crafts superstore has taken a new 15-year lease on 10,413 sq ft. The unit has been let at £35 per sq ft. Standard Life was represented by Savills. Carpetright was represented by Harvey Spack Field.

HBG Wellgate Holdings has let Units 2 and 3 within the new food court at the Wellgate Centre to Harlequin Restaurants. The units are held on new 15-year leases, subject to a turnover rent, with a base rent of £60,000 pa. Culverwell, Smith Cole Wright and Churston Heard are joint agents.

Topwell has recently let Units 7 and 10 at the Arndale Centre in Headingley to O2 on a new 10-year lease at £37,500 pa. The unit totals 866 sq ft. The landlord was advised by Savills and O2 was represented by Francis & Company.

The Mall Corporation has let LU30 at Castle Mall to Peacocks. The fashion retailer has taken 7,500 sq ft of ground-floor space at £285,000 pa on a new 10-year lease. The Mall was represented by Churston Heard and Mason & Partners represented Peacocks.

Hawkin's Bazaar has acquired Unit 11 in the Westgate shopping centre, totalling 1,370 sq ft at ground floor with mezzanine and basement storage, by way of a new five-year internal repairing and insuring lease. The initial rent is £73,800 pa exclusive. Williams Gunter Hardwick represented Hawkin's Bazaar, while the landlord, Coal Pension Properties, was represented by Lunson Mitchenall.

Hawkin's Bazaar has acquired Units 2 and 3 Brunel Plaza, providing 1,831 sq ft of ground-floor sales with remote storage, by way of a new 10-year lease. The initial rent is £88,000 pax. Williams Gunter Hardwick represented Hawkin's Bazaar, while the landlord, CIT Group, was represented by Savills.

BB's Coffee & Muffins has taken Unit 16 in the Cockhedge shopping centre, comprising a 953 sq ft kiosk with a 400 sq ft seating area, on a 15-year lease at £29,000 pa. The tenant was advised by Harper Dennis Hobbs while Osborne King advised the landlord, Cockhedge Property Trust.

Studio Optics, trading as Vision Express, has taken Unit 31 in The Heart shopping centre on a new 10-year lease at £65,000 pa. Leslie Furness advised Vision Express; CB Richard Ellis and Carter Wassell Murdoch represented the developer O&H.

Hawkin's Bazaar has acquired Unit C2, Crowngate shopping centre, totalling 1,041 sq ft with first-floor storage, by way of a new five-year lease. The initial rent is £55,000 pax. Williams Gunter Hardwick represented Hawkin's Bazaar, while the landlord, the Crown Estate, was represented by CB Richard Ellis.


Ditsch opens its second UK store in burton upon trent

Ditsch, the world's largest manufacturer of freshly baked soft pretzels, has opened its second UK store at the Cooper Square shopping centre in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire. Advised by Leslie Furness, its retained agency in the UK, Ditsch has taken Kiosk 2 at 1 Swan Walk and will pay rent of £40,000 pa on a five-year lease. The landlord, Cooper Square, was advised by DTZ Debenham Tie Leung.

Ditsch's latest unit follows the successful opening of its first UK store in Cambridge in June. Leslie Furness has been appointed by the master UK franchisee to find 10 units across Britain as part of its European expansion. The initial search area covers the South and the Midlands.
