Land Securities treated Londoners to three free days of fashion, food, music and entertainment at Cardinal Place, its newest retail and leisure destination, in Victoria, London SW1.
The Cardinal Place Carnival was opened by Mike Hussey, managing director of LandSec's London Portfolio, with the help of three butterfly catchers.
The butterfly theme of the Carnival was chosen to reflect the way the development has transformed the Victoria landscape, and the scheme was dominated by a giant butterfly-inspired sculpture made entirely of balloons and miniature butterflies made by US artist Jason Hackenwerth with the help of scores of local children.
TV fashion guru Caryn Franklin hosted a makeover fashion show, transforming five women into catwalk stars while M&S revealed its new autumn fashion collection. Mama's Gun rocked the crowds with their fusion of soul, funk and rock before chart-topping singer/songwriter Seth Lakeman made a surprise appearance, performing a secret gig to round off the night.
