On a swelteringly hot day in Liverpool, this consultant needed refreshment. Not just the usual quick fix of water, but something tasty, nourishing and energy replenishing. So a visit to the Fruit Boost kiosk in Clayton Square shopping centre was in order.
Fruit Boost currently operates six units in the north-west and north-east but it plans to expand throughout the country. The beauty of the concept is that it can deliver high quality, premium products from small unit footprints. This brand, for example, can operate from as little as 180 sq ft, great for difficult spaces in shopping centres.
On reaching the counter after a slightly chaotic queue, I ordered a Blueberry Bang Smoothie, consisting of bananas, blueberries, apple juice and coolicious fat free frozen yoghurt (£3.05). My colleague plumped for an Energizer Juice, which contained the intriguing mixture of apple juice, carrots and ginger (£2.75).
The two staff appeared rushed off their feet and service suffered slightly as a result, with a wait time of three minutes. However, the end products were excellent - chilled, fresh and healthy. The 'fat' straws are an excellent idea to suck up any remaining 'chunky' fruit pieces. Great product, average service, but we both left energised and ready to continue.
