One of the biggest-ever retail parking contracts is up for grabs after Parkview International instructed Town Centre Parking to let the 2,750 parking spaces serving the commercial element of its Battersea Power Station scheme on the south bank of the Thames.
Commenting on the appointment, Town Centre Parking's managing director, Alasdair Robertson, said: "The Power Station is unquestionably one of the most exciting projects in the UK and we are delighted to be playing a part in the regeneration of a landmark building. With the car park providing an essential service as well as forming visitors' first and last impressions, it is integral to the success of the scheme. It is therefore vital that the party running the car park is totally committed to customer service; our search for such a party will extend beyond the UK."
Mike Swinney, The Power Station's director of development and leasing said: "Town Centre Parking has unrivalled experience and I'm very excited at the prospect of working with them in finding the right tenant to partner us through the life of the scheme."
The car park will be marketed from May, with the intention being to appoint an operator by mid-summer 2006.
