O'Briens has taken a 1,246 sq ft unit at Xscape, Braehead, on a 15-year lease with five-year break option on an initial rent of £52,500 pa. Landlord Xscape Braehead Partnership was represented by Briant Champion Long and Cushman & Wakefield advised the tenant.


? GREENOCK

Shoe Zone has taken Unit 4A Hamilton Way, Oak Mall, comprising 1,418 sq ft of ground floor sales space with an additional 848 sq ft of remote storage space for 10 years at £52,500 pa. Shoe Zone was represented by Ramsdens and the letting agents were Eric Young & Co and Cushman & Wakefield.

Claire's Accessories has taken Unit 34 at Baxter Gate, Freshney Place, from Grosvenor Holdings. The unit, comprising 1,144 sq ft of sales and storage space has been acquired on a new 10-year lease at an annual rent of £61,500. Donaldsons and Churston Heard advised Grosvenor Holdings and Savills advised the tenant.

Bathstore.com has taken a 3,000 sq ft unit in Crest Nicholson's Riverside development on a 15-year lease at £60,000 pa. Hartnell Taylor Cook and Donaldsons are joint letting agents.

Claire's Accessories has taken unit 9A in the Britannia Centre on a new 10-year lease at £21,500 pa. The unit comprises 550 sq ft of ground floor sales space and 496 sq ft of first floor ancillary accommodation. Churston Heard advised joint landlords Lehman Brothers and Boultbee Land and Savills advised the tenant.

Claire's Accessories has taken unit 31 at the Kingsgate Centre from WD (Huddersfield). The unit comprising 1,263 sq ft has been taken on a new 15-year lease at £75,500 pa. King Sturge advised the landlord and Savills advised the tenant.

Original Shoe Company has taken Unit 22 in the Rivergate Centre, providing a sales area of 2,591 sq ft and 2,521 sq ft of storage on a new 10-year lease at £129,750 pax. Passion for Perfume has taken a 458 sq ft unit on a 10-year lease at £39,600 pa and BB's Coffee & Muffins has taken a new 500 sq ft mall café unit on a 15-year lease at £50,000 pa. Claire's Accessories has taken Unit SU6 at the Arndale Centre, comprising 750 sq ft of retail space and 250 sq ft of remote storage on a new 10-year lease at £125,000 pa. The landlord, Prudential Property Investment Managers, was advised by Tushington Moore, Lunson Mitchenall and CBRE and Savills advised the tenant.

Carphone Warehouse has opened for trade at Spindles Town Square Shopping Centre, taking a 1,217 sq ft unit on a 10-year lease at £60,000 pa. Republic has taken a 4,685 sq ft unit on a 10-year lease at £150,000 pa. Both lettings reflect £111 zone A. And Betfred has taken a 1,166 sq ft external unit on a 15-year lease at £62,500 pa. Joint letting agents for the scheme are Lunson Mitchenall and Tushingham Moore. Munroe K Asset Management is the managing agent on behalf of ING Britannica.


? PAISLEY

Threadneedle Property Investments has let Unit 27/28 The Piazza Centre to Cavesham Finance trading as Brighthouse. The unit comprises 2,288 sq ft of ground floor sales space with an additional 1,266 sq ft of basement storage space and has been let for 10 years at a rental of £55,000 pa. Cavesham was represented by Smith Price and Threadneedle was represented jointly by Eric Young & Co and Jackson Criss.

ING has let 42 Market Mall at the Clock Towers Shopping Centre to Phones4u. The mobile phone retailer has taken the unit, comprising 1,347 sq ft of ground floor space and 400 sq ft on the first floor, on a new 10-year lease at £63,000pa. Churston Heard and Alston Nock jointly advised ING. Morgan Williams represented Phones4u.


? ST ALBANS

Claire's Accessories has relocated to Unit 33 at The Maltings Shopping Centre. The new property comprises 689 sq ft of ground floor retail space and 450 sq ft of basement ancillary space and it has been taken on a new 10-year lease at £57,500 pa. Churston Heard advised the landlord Boultbee Land, and Savills advised the tenant.

Original Shoe Company has recently

taken 86A High Street in Meadowhall

on a new five-year lease at £165,000 pax. The property provides 1,219 sq ft of sales space. Hammond Phillips represented the tenant and Smith Young was letting agent on behalf of British Land.


? SLOUGH

Footlocker has increased its representation in Slough by more than 40 per cent, as a result of moving to a 1,810 sq ft store in the Queensmere centre on a new 10-year lease at £110 per sq ft zone A. The menswear fashion retailer, Chemistry, has also upsized to a 1,830 sq ft unit, adjacent to H&M, which has been taken on a new 10-year lease at £110 per sq ft zone A.


? TRURO

Diageo Pension Fund, advised by Savills, has secured a new headline rent at its Treliske Retail Park. Diageo has agreed to take a surrender of the 7,008 sq ft Tiles R Us unit, allowing Carpetright to relocate from its existing 10,064 sq ft premises into the Tiles unit. Argos will then take the Open A1 Carpetright unit on a 15-year lease at a new headline rent of £21 per sq ft. Argos was unrepresented and Harvey Spack Field represented Carpetright.


? WELLINGBOROUGH

ING Retail Property Fund Britannica has secured two new lettings in the Swan Lane mall at the Swansgate Centre, Wellingborough. Supercuts has taken a 605 sq ft unit on a 10-year lease at £26,500 pa. In addition, Subway has taken a 684 sq ft unit on a 15-year lease at £26,500 pa. Douglas Stevens & Co is retained as the letting agent for the centre while Savills is ING Britannia's managing agent.


Bristol scoops Inditex duo

Inditex Group, advised by Harper Dennis Hobbs, has acquired two units at Bristol Alliance's Broadmead shopping centre development in Bristol. Zara has acquired unit SU40, totalling 23,840 sq ft on a 15-year lease at £607,000 pa. And Bershka has taken 6,383 sq ft in the adjacent unit, SU40A, on a 15-year lease, at £177,000 pa. The development is due to open in spring 2008. Donaldsons advised the Bristol Alliance, a consortium of Land Securities and Hammerson.
