Carpetright has surrendered its lease at Unit 2B to landlord Scottish Widows. The 10,386 sq ft unit was held on a 25-year lease at £178,580 pa and it has subsequently been re-let to Sports World on a 15-year lease at £290,800 pa. Edgerley Simpson Howe & Partners advised Scottish Widows and Harvey Spack Field advised Carpetright.

Capital & Regional's X-Leisure has leased the 1,763-sq ft Unit 18 to Ark Clothing on a 10-year lease at an initial rent of £55,000 pa. Briant Champion Long was letting agent and Fisher Hargreaves Proctor represented the tenant.

Tarak Group trading as Quiz Clothing has agreed a 15-year lease on Unit 41, providing a ground floor of 2,391 sq ft and a first floor of 1,297 sq ft. The initial rent is £135,000 pa. Landlord Teesland's agent was Fawley Watson Booth. Hammond Phillips advised the tenant.

BB's Coffee & Muffins has signed a 15-year lease on the 1,488-sq ft Unit 42. The initial rent agreed is £57,000 pa. Donaldsons was letting agent on behalf of the Perfrmance Retail Partnership and Harper Dennis Hobbs represented the tenant.

Tesco has leased the 1,822-sq ft Unit H to Westworld Mobility on a five-year lease at an initial rent of £20,000 pa. Morgan Williams was letting agent and Goadsby represented the tenant.

Miller Bros has acquired the 12,500 sq ft Unit 2a at £312,500 pa. Pets at Home has taken 8,000 sq ft at Unit 4 at £176,000 pa. PC World has taken the 15,000 sq ft Unit 5 at £337,500 pa. And Barker & Stonehouse has taken Unit 6, totalling 20,000 sq ft at £360,000 pa. Landlord the Junction Limited Partnership was advised by Edgerley Simpson Howe & Partners and King Sturge.

Butlers, advised by Harper Dennis Hobbs, has taken the 2,815 sq ft Unit SU1 from Metro Nominees on a 16-year lease at an annual rent of £197,500. Metro Nominees was advised by Cushman & Wakefield.

Hermes Property Asset Management has leased 7,518 sq ft at Unit 17 to Poundland on a new 10-year FRI lease at a commencing rent of £220,000 pa.

C&J Clark, trading as Ravel, has assigned its lease on Unit 26 to Fat Face at nil premium. The unit provides 1,640 sq ft of ground floor space with a 500-sq ft basement. The lease expires in December 2014 and the passing rent is £84,250 pa. Green & Partners represented C&J Clark while Mortlock Simmonds Brown Leverett represented Fat Face.

Jane Norman has taken a new 10-year lease on a unit providing 1,650 sq ft of ground floor and 1,565 of first floor space. The commencing rent is £167,000 pa. Landlord Hammerson was represented by Green & Partners and Donaldsons while Jane Norman was represented by Cushman & Wakefield.

T Mobile, advised by Harper Dennis Hobbs, has acquired a 1,325 sq ft retail unit on a 15-year lease from The Mall Corporation at £56,000 pa. CB Richard Ellis was letting agent.

Welbeck Land, advised by Edgerley Simpson Howe & Partners, has let a 52,000 sq ft retail warehouse unit to Wickes on a 25-year lease at £669,770 pa. Wickes was advised by Wilkinson Williams.


? TELFORD SHOPPING CENTRE, TELFORD

Original Shoe Company has taken a new 10-year lease at 128 New Street. The unit provides 1,850 sq ft of ground floor and 925 sq ft of basement space and a rent of £125,000 pa was agreed. Blair Kirkman (now Savills) and DTZ represented the landlord, Universities Superannuation Scheme and Hammond Phillips advised the tenant.

Crown Eyeglass has taken the 540-sq ft Unit 11 on a six-year lease at £16,000 pa. Mason Owen was letting agent.


Arndale extension opens

Tarak Group trading as Quiz Clothing has taken a 10-year lease on 2,967 sq ft at unit L37 in the Manchester Arndale at £205,000 pa. And Original Shoe Company has taken a 10-year lease on the 4,528-sq ft Unit L34 at £285,000 pa. Lunson Mitchenall, Tushingham Moore and CB Richard Ellis were letting agents on behalf of Prudential and Hammond Phillips advised the tenants. Other new openings in the centre's northern extension include TopShop, Monsoon, Dune, Claire's, Jane Norman, Bank and Bershka.
