Shopping Centre's founder and special projects editor Eric Williams was honoured with a special presentation at the Edinburgh conference.
Williams, who retires at the end of March, prides himself on keeping close to the machinations of BCSC headquarters. But even he didn't know what was being planned until chief exec Michael Green called him up on stage to receive a presentation decanter from president John Strachan. The neckband reads: "Presented to Eric Williams in recognition of his outstanding service to the Shopping Centre Industry from all his friends at BCSC."
More coverage of this end of an era will follow in April's issue of Shopping Centre.
