Flood of new lettings at the Howgate shopping centre, Falkirk

Card Factory and Costa Coffee are the latest brands to sign at Ellandi’s Howgate shopping centre in Falkirk. The lettings follow a steady flow of deals in 2016 with Watt Brothers, Eurochange and Warren James all opening their first outlets in the town within the scheme.

Following the outcome of the business rates revaluation which resulted in a 50 per cent reduction, Falkirk has become an even more enticing prospect for retailers to dive into.

Richard Hutchinson, associate director, asset management at Ellandi said: “The positive outcome of the business rates revaluation has made Falkirk more affordable for retailers looking to dip their toes into the market. As a direct result, we have seen increased interest in the Howgate shopping centre. With the floodgates well and truly open, we look forward to more retailers taking the plunge in the coming months.”
