It turns out that Brits of all ages love their Christmas songs - and 93 per cent feel that Christmas tunes should be part of the in-store shopping experience during the holiday period according to a YouGov poll commissioned by Mood Media.

Fairytale of New York by The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl is the nation’s favourite, pushing Bing Crosby’s White Christmas into second place. Wizzard’s I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day and Slade’s Merry Christmas Everybody come next with All I want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey and Do They Know It’s Christmas by Band Aid in joint fifth place.
