Known in the UK for supplying its luxury branded coffee to coffee houses throughout the country, Lavazza has taken a 3,542 sq ft unit on Parkway’s Middle Street, between Fat Face and Barclays for its first directly owned and managed outlet.
Set to open this summer, the new concept store - Espression - will sell a selection of Lavazza coffee based beverages along with fresh food creating an authentic Italian experience and ambiance. The store will also sell merchandise including coffee machines and barista equipment.
Ed Jenkins, head of UK Retail at Standard Life Investments, said: “Parkway is going from strength to strength. Following opening last October, we have secured some fantastic retailers, and since we opened the doors to John Lewis at home last month our footfall is consistently up by 17 per cent and car park usage has increased 40 per cent. Lavazza Espression is a perfect fit for Parkway, and indeed Newbury. We look forward to welcoming them to the town.”
Development managers for Parkway are Shearer Property Group. Retail letting agents are Strutt & Parker and Jones Lang LaSalle.
