Standard Life Investments has concluded a new letting with Primark for a 50,000 sq ft store at County Mall shopping centre in Crawley, West Sussex.
Primark has acquired the unit on a 25 year lease. The deal follows a further investment in the centre by the Standard Life Investments’ Pension Property Fund to acquire the asset outright.
Planning permission has been granted to create the unit which involves the relocation of the existing car park ramp and the amalgamation of eight shop units. The store is expected to be open for trade in October 2013.
David Stewart, fund manager, Pension Property Fund, Standard Life Investments, said: “We are delighted that Primark has chosen County Mall Shopping Centre to expand their retail offer in Crawley. They are a fabulous addition to the centre and will attract significant footfall.”
Primark joins recent new retailers Jones the Bootmaker, Jack & Jones and Panasonic.
Jones Lang LaSalle and Cushman & Wakefield acted for Standard Life Investments and McMullen Wilson acted for Primark.
