Discovery Properties takes on The Wynd in Letchworth Garden City

Published:  27 August, 2009

Discovery Properties has been appointed developer of the retail-led regeneration scheme taking place in Letchworth, Hertfordshire.

The second phase of the scheme focuses on revitalising an area of Letchworth Garden City known as The Wynd. Discovery Properties will work alongside the Heritage Foundation to deliver 26 retail units including a 27,000-sq ft anchor food store, 113 flats and a 7,500-sq ft play area.

Stuart Kenny, director general of the Heritage Foundation, said: “Clearly these are challenging times, but Discovery Properties and the Foundation share both the ambition and commitment to deliver this crucial regeneration.”

Charles Miller, Head of Retail at King Sturge, advised the foundation: “At a time when very little new town centre development is either under way or planned, this is a very significant and forward-looking move," he said.
