Milligan launches in Portugal

Niche retail developer Milligan has signed a joint venture with Eiffage to develop Portugal’s first “Retail Planet” in Lisbon.
Barreiro Retail Planet is an innovative concept combining the formats of both a retail park and a shopping centre. It will consist of over 40 stores and restaurants, 13 retail park units and 1,750 car spaces with 35,000 sq m of gross lettable floorspace.
The scheme is already 70 per cent let, with four anchor stores comprising an 11,000-sq m hypermarket, a 4,000-sq m Decathlon store, 3,578 sq m for DIY brand Aki, and 2,200 sq let to the Portuguese consumer electronics brand, Radio Popular.
