Ambleside

Esquires Coffee has taken a new 15-year lease on Unit 14 at the Market Cross Shopping Centre, providing 2,615 sq ft, at a commencing rent of £50,000 pa. Landlord Ess Gee Investments was represented by Legat Owen while Central Retail advised the tenant.

Bedworth

London & Associated Properties has let 16 All Saints Square to ExtraCare Shops on a new 10-year lease at £19,250 pax. The property provides 661 sq ft of ground floor sales space and 719 sq ft of first floor storage. Location & Development Research advised the tenant while Rowley Hughes Thompson was letting agent.

Cardiff

Greggs has taken 1,200 sq ft at Unit B, The Pod on the Capital Shopping Park on a 15-year lease with a tenant’s break option at year 10. An initial rent of £36,180 pax was agreed. E J Hales and CB Richard Ellis were letting agents and Cooke & Arkwright represented the tenant.

Corby

Land Securities’ subsidiary Top Shop Precincts has leased 2 Spencer Court, providing 637 sq ft of ground floor sales space and 50 sq ft of ground floor storage to Tin Miner’s Pasty Company on a five-year lease. The base rent is £25,000 pax, plus a turnover top-up. Rowley Hughes Thompson was letting agent.

Dunstable

USS has leased 8,565 sq ft at Unit 7, White Lion Retail Park, to Dreams on a 15-year lease at £132,758 pa or £15.50 per sq ft. Wilkinson Williams and Morgan Williams were letting agents.

Gloucester

Thrubwell Properties has let 9,040 sq ft at Curzon House 92-96 Northgate to the British Heart Foundation’s furniture & electrical division. The tenant has agreed a new 10-year lease, subject to a tenant-only break at year five, at a commencing rental of £45,000 pa. DTZ was letting agent and Rowley Hughes Thompson represented the tenant.

Harrogate

BlackRock UK Property Fund has completed the re-letting of the former Woolworths store at 24/26 Cambridge Street. Boots UK has taken a 15-year lease at a rent equivalent to £550,000 pa. The unit comprises 29,745 sq ft over basement, ground, first and second floors. Blackrock was advised by DTZ, Boots UK was advised by Savills.

Leigh

Atmore Centres has leased Unit 20 in the Spinning Gate Shopping Centre to Sportswift trading as Card Factory on a new 10-year lease at £49,500 pa. The unit provides 3,000 sq ft. Legat Owen was letting agent while Jones Lang LaSalle represented the tenant.

Liverpool

Pets at Home has taken a new 15-year lease on Unit K3 on the New Mersey Shopping Park, providing 10,070 sq ft. The initial rent of £377,625 pa equates to £37.50 per sq ft. Wilkinson Williams and Atisreal were letting agents on behalf of British Land’s Hercules Unit Trust.

Newcastle-Under-Lyme

Atmore Developments has let Unit 25, Castle Walk to Orange Personal Communication Services on a 10-year lease at £77,000 pa. The unit provides 2,830 sq ft of sales space. Legat Owen was letting agent and Cushman & Wakefield represented the tenant.

Nottingham

British Land has leased 7,940 sq ft at Unit 11 on the Giltbrook Retail Park to Pets at Home on a new 15-year lease. The initial rent of £228,275 pa equates to £28.75 per sq ft. Wilkinson Williams and Havills were letting agents.

Orpington

Pets at Home has taken the 10,495-sq ft Unit 19 on British Land’s Nugent Shopping Park on a 15-year lease at £309,603 pa or £29.50 per sq ft. Wilkinson Williams and Harvey Spack Field were letting agents.

Stafford

British Land’s Hercules Unit Trust has leased the 10,035-sq ft Unit 7 on the Queens Retail Park to Boots on a new 10-year lease. The initial rent of £230,805 pa equates to £23.00 per sq ft. Wilkinson Williams and Savills were letting agents and Montagu Evans represented the tenant.

Thornaby

Thornfield Properties has let four units at the Pavilion Shopping Centre. At the 695-sq ft Unit SU16, Ramsdens Financial, trading as Ramsdens 4 Cash, has agreed a new 10-year lease at £16,000 pa. Yum International Restaurants will trade as KFC from the 1,800-sq ft Unit SU17. The retailer has agreed a new 20-year lease at an annual rent of £31,500. Subway Realty, trading as sandwich retailer Subway, has taken a new 15-year lease on a 630-sq ft kiosk at the scheme and will pay an annual rent of £20,000. Lastly, Maureen Cole trading as Ikon has agreed a new five-year lease on a 640-sq ft store at an annual rent of £17,000. Savills was joint letting agent with Sanderson Wetherall, King Sturge represented Yum International Restaurants and Hyde Harrington acted for Subway Realty.

Cardiff

Moorfield Group has let a 700-sq ft shop unit at the Capitol shopping centre to the rugby-inspired fashion label Eden Park. The store has been let on a new 10-year lease at a stepped rent averaging £24,500 pa. Moorfield was represented by Kitchen La Frenais Morgan and Macarthur Wilson.

Telford

Barclays Bank has upsized at the Telford Shopping Centre. The high street bank has expanded into a 5,484-sq ft unit, spread over the basement and ground floors, on a new 15 year lease, paying a rent of £230,000 pa. This expansion follows the recent decision by Primark to triple the size of its store in the centre to over 70,000 sq ft. The clothing chain is now confirmed as an anchor along with House of Fraser, Debenhams, Marks & Spencer and Asda. Telford Shopping Centre currently extends to one million sq ft on a 50-acre site. The landlords, Apollo Real Estate Advisors and Hark Group, were advised by Strutt & Parker and DTZ, while Knight Frank advised Barclays Bank.
