Victoria Quarter links in to new record rent

Links of London has set a new record rent in the Victoria Quarter in Leeds, by relocating within the centre and handing its former store to its sister company Folie Folie. Links of London has taken a new 15-year lease on the 1,500-sq ft 5-7 Queen Victoria Street at £133,000 pa, a new record for the centre which is owned and managed by Bank of Ireland on behalf of a consortium of Irish investors.

The deal will see Links of London relocate from a 900-sq ft unit at 28 Queen Victoria Street, which will be occupied by jewellery, watches and accessories chain Folli Follie. Folli Follie will be paying £78,000 pa for the 15-year lease on the unit which will be its sixth in the UK.
Jonathan Newns, head of King Sturge’s in-town retail team in the North, who brokered both deals on behalf of Bank of Ireland, said: “As a result of proactive asset management, the scheme continues to outperform the poor national picture with both increasing footfall and overall spending and strong rental growth.”
