Chadfield gets on his bike

Published:  30 September, 2008

As Shopping Centre went to press Dave Chadfield, centre manager at Coopers Square in Burton-on-Trent, was battling the storms to cycle more than 300 miles in three days. His aim was to help raise money towards a £7,000 target to build the first Footprints Orphanage in the Shimba Hills, near Mombasa in Kenya.

Starting on Thursday 4 September, Dave began his gruelling ride from the Dolphin shopping centre in Poole. Stopping en route at Basingstoke's Festival Place, he then headed for his home shopping centre before reaching Freshney Place in Grimsby on Saturday 6 September.

All four centres are part of the Grosvenor Shopping Centre Fund, and each held fund-raising events to coincide with Dave's marathon.
