A Wear moves into UK

Published:  30 September, 2008

A Wear, Ireland's top female fashion brand, has opened its first UK standalone store at Highcross Leicester, and it has already signed two more deals as part of a UK-wide acquisitions programme.

The second store will open at Bristol's Cabot Circus on 25 September and a third in Warrington's Golden Square by the end of October. King Sturge has been retained by A Wear to handle new store acquisitions across the UK and Northern Ireland.

A Wear has 25 stores in the Republic of Ireland and two in Northern Ireland. In the UK it will be rolling ut a new store format, trialled at the Pavilions development in Swords, Co Dublin.

King Sturge partner Tom Keys-Toyer said: "Current economic conditions are presenting A Wear with a huge array of opportunities. Landlords are keen to attract new brands and are prepared to offer heavily incentivised deals. A Wear will continue to take a pragmatic approach to expansion and plans are well advanced to secure a further 10 store openings during 2009."
