Brent X beats parking problem

Brent Cross recently joined forces with car park management company Creative Car Parks in a month-long campaign to overcome the centre's problem with staff parking.

The north London mall wanted to stop staff members from parking in the customer car park and using up valuable shopper spaces, but were unable to identify who was staff and who wasn't in the absence of any specific shop uniform.

"We worked very closely with the CCTV operator tracking, in the mornings, cars that turned up before the shops opened to ensure we were able to identify the perpetrators, and then our units clamped those vehicles and a release fee was charged," said Creative's chief executive Gary Wayne,.

Creative Car Parks had two units on site daily for the entire month.

"The scheme had the full support of all the retailers and the retailers informed their staff," explained Wayne.

"Brent Cross does provide parking for its staff but it's a slightly further walk away than the customer car park."
