The car park at Prince Bishops shopping centre in Durham has received a highly-regarded international award in recognition of its exceptionally high standards.
In addition to holding a Park Mark Award, which was recently renewed for the ninth year running by the Association of Chief Police Offers (ACPO), Prince Bishops has now also become the first car park in the north east to receive the European Parking Award, an accolade reserved for only the very finest car parks in Europe.
In winning the qualification, the car park was judged according to the practicality, construction, maintenance, management, design and safety of its facilities, undergoing a thorough examination of entry, exit and parking areas, pedestrian routes, lifts, stairwells, lighting and security.
"We are delighted that Prince Bishops has been recognised with this award," said centre operations manager Stuart Taylor. "We are always striving to provide the best possible service in our administration of this facility, demonstrating our commitment to maintain a safe and secure parking environment for all our customers at all times."
