Thorntons has taken an assignment of the lease on Unit 2-4 Portland Walk from Stylo Barratt. Totalling 4,243 sq ft, the unit is held on a lease until September 2016 at £80,000 pa. Thorntons was advised by Churston Heard and CBRE represented the assignor.

The Hercules Unit Trust, the specialist retail warehouse fund managed by Schroders and advised by British Land Property Advisers, has secured three new lettings at its Borehamwood shopping park. HSBC has taken a 2,500-sq ft store at £40.00 psf following the subdivision of a former Iceland store into four individual retail units. Shutopia and Costa have also taken new units, with only one now available for letting. Wilkinson Williams and Harvey Spack Field represented HUT, while CBRE acted for HSBC.

Subway has acquired its fourth store in Bradford at Unit 19E, Forster Square retail park. The sandwich retailer has agreed a new 15-year lease and will pay £47,000 pa for the unit, which totals 998 sq ft. Subway was represented by Savills and landlord British Land was represented by Hill Woolhouse.

Globe Estates Company has let Unit 14 The Globe Centre, Wellfield Road, to Bridal Heaven. The 659-sq ft first floor retail unit has been let on a new five-year FRI lease at £5,500 pa. And Unit 10, a 708-sq ft ground floor unit, has been let to Martin & Co (Cardiff) on a new 10-year FRI lease at £14,000 pa. Alder King acted for Globe Estates Company.

Gamestation has acquired 1,993 sq ft at Unit 33, 6-8 the Priory shopping centre, by way of a new 10-year FRI lease, with a review at the expiration of year five. The initial rent is £48,000 pax. Williams Gunter Hardwick represented Gamestation, while the landlord, Home Property, was represented by Churston Heard.

Desire by Debenhams has signed a pre-letting on 19,342 sq ft at 72/75 Westbury Mall in the Fareham shopping centre on a 15-year lease at £320,000 pa. Debenhams was advised by Lunson Mitchenall.

== ? Fulham ==

The Fulham Broadway Unit Trust has let Kiosk 5 in the Fulham Broadway shopping centre to Krispy Kreme UK. The 200-sq ft kiosk has been let at £65,000 pax. Kitchen La Frenais Morgan was letting agent and Krispy Kreme was represented by Colliers CRE.

Bon Marche has acquired No 14 Spinning Gate in the Atmore Group's Spinning Gate shopping centre. The unit will be extended to provide 2,400 sq ft on ground floor, with 1,161 sq ft of storage at first floor. A new 10-year lease was agreed at £52,630 pa. The Atmore Group was represented by Legat Owen and Bon Marche by Central Retail.

AXA Sun Life has let Unit 32, The Victoria shopping centre, to William Hollins & Company, trading as Viyella. The property comprises 1,325 sq ft of ground floor sales and 549 sq ft of ancillary space. The unit has been let on a new 10-year FRI lease at £53,500 pax. The tenant was represented by Mortlock Simmonds Brown Leverett and the landlord by Kenneymoore.

Vision Express, part of Europe's largest optical retailer, has signed for a 1,630-sq ft store in The Quays shopping centre, at £78,000 pa. Savills Hamilton Osborne King acted on behalf of the landlord, Parker Green International and Vision Express was represented by CBRE.

== ? PETERLEE ==

Gamestation has acquired 1,551 sq ft, together with two upper floors, by way of a new 10-year lease, with a review and tenant-only break option at year five. The initial rent is £29,250 pax. Williams Gunter Hardwick represented Gamestation, while the landlord, South Shore One, was represented by DTZ Debenham Tie Leung.

Pickenham has signed three key pre-lettings at its Market Place development. Aldi has signed a new 20-year lease on the 14,501-sq ft Unit 2A. Iceland has taken the adjacent Unit 2B, providing 6,995 sq ft, on a 10-year lease at a stepped rent starting at £120,000 pa and rising to £130,000 pa over five years. And Subway has taken a lease on a 700-sq ft unit in Tollgate House. Gilbert Bath, Gooch Cunliffe Whale and Stiles Harold Williams are letting agents. Mason and Partners represented Iceland.

Napiers Herbal Healthcare, trading as Culpeper, has acquired Unit C32 Chapel Walk in the Crowngate shopping centre providing 585 sq ft of ground floor sales, with storage, by way of a new 10-year lease at £37,000 pa. Williams Gunter Hardwick represented Napiers while the landlord, The Crown Estate, was represented by CB Richard Ellis.

Jaeger has taken a 1,460-sq ft unit at the Moorfield Group's 165,300-sq ft Capitol shopping centre on a ten-year lease at £145,000 pa. Fat Face has also taken a 10-year lease on a 1,429-sq ft store at £154,000 pa. 3 UK Retail, trading as 3G, has taken 473 sq ft at £85,000 pax. And Moda in Pelle has occupied a 1,612-sq ft unit. Letting agents are Kitchen Le Frenais Morgan and MacArthur Wilson. Michael Peddar & Co represented 3G.

== ? London W1 ==

Sirosa has recently let two units at The Plaza shopping centre on Oxford Street, London to Nutriviva, trading as Fruzi and Casa Fresh respectively. Fruzi has agreed a new 15-year lease on the unit, which totals 700 sq ft at £76,500 pa. Casa Fresh has also taken a 15-year lease on a 484-sq ft unit, at £69,500 pa. Sirosa was advised by Savills and Nutriviva was represented by James Peasnell.

== ? Milton Keynes ==

Legal & General has let Unit 38, East Walk in its 418,000-sq ft Midsummer Place to Hobbs. The UK women's retailer has taken 2,946 sq ft on a 10-year lease at a headline rent of £207,000 pa. Legal & General was advised by Strutt & Parker and Stephen Kane & Co advised Hobbs.

=== Five Sign in Newbury ===

The Newbury Unit Trust has recently introduced five new tenants to the Kennet shopping centre in Newbury.

Select Retail has taken a new 10-year lease on the 3,165-sq ft Unit 29, which was previously let to Rosebys, at £81,000 pa. Select Retail was represented by Allen Hodkinson.

Unit 19, which totals 2,832 sq ft, has been let to Sportswift, trading as Card Factory, on a new 10-year lease at £46,569 pa. Sportswift was represented by Fawley Watson Booth.

Unit 34, which totals 1,798 sq ft, has been let to Simcat, trading as Diamonds & Pearls, on a new 10-year lease at £42,250 pa. Simcat was represented by Capital Retail.

Chinese restaurant Chenz has agreed a new 25-year lease on Unit 28, Cheap Street, which totals 1,488 sq ft, at £22,000 pa. And bathroom retailer Ripples has taken a new 10-year lease on Unit 29/30, Cheap Street, providing 5,301 sq ft, at an average annual rent of £32,500 pa.
