Emmerdale star Verity Rushworth (below) was at St Johns Centre, Leeds, to help launch the centre's Field of Hope appeal in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The centre has planted daffodil bulbs in memory of people who have lost their battle against cancer and these flowers are now bringing a touch of spring to the East Mall.

Centre manager Victoria Mitchell said: "We are delighted to support Marie Curie and equally pleased to have the first Field of Hope in Leeds city centre."
