Fashion retailer River Island is looking to build on its 220-strong store portfolio across the UK. It has acquired a 8,610-sq ft store at Westfield's Eagle Centre extension in Derby, relocated in Northampton and made its first international acquisition.
In Northampton, Harper Dennis Hobbs, advisor to River Island in the Midlands and Central Southern regions, has advised on the relocation from 40 Abington Street to a 11,420 sq ft unit at 13-15 Abington Street. And in the Netherlands, River Island is taking a 12,700-sq ft store on Kalverstraat in Amsterdam.
Harper Dennis Hobbs's David Purslow said: "We continue to seek new units of 7,000 to 15,000 sq ft. In 2006 Harper Dennis Hobbs acquired eight stores for River Island. We are hopeful that 2007 will be just as successful as we are in negotiations on a lot of re-sites to bigger premises and are considering a number of new towns."
River Island's other property advisors include Keenan & Co, Churston Heard, and Cushman & Wakefield.
