New lettings in South King Street

Published:  10 November, 2006

Both H & M and Zara have signed up for the new landmark fashion shopping complex being developed by Joe O'Reilly in South King Street, off the top of Grafton Street, Dublin.

The development is on the site of a former Eircom office block, right next door to the Gaiety Theatre, and when it opens in the spring of 2008, it will have 3,716 sq m of retail space and the same amount of office space, as well as some apartments.

H & M is taking 1,672 sq m, while Zara will be taking 1,486 sq m. Bannon Commercial, which handled the lettings, won't disclose rents, but they are believed to be about E1m pa in each case.

Both H & M and Zara have been trading strongly in Henry Street since they opened there and hope to replicate this performance in South King Street, currently a "dead" street for retailing.
