The sail-end of summer

Published:  13 September, 2006

Gunwharf Quays' Land Securities £200m mixed-use development at Portsmouth Harbour took Park & Ride one step further this summer. In an attempt to reduce emissions and congestion, it set up a trial Park & Boat.

Operating from the Continental Ferry Port to Gunwharf at 50-minute intervals, customers were provided parking at the port, off the M27, avoiding the busy city centre and one-way systems, and were able to enjoy close-up views of the historical dockyards.

With a rise in footfall over the August Bank Holiday, Gunwharf is looking to make Park & Boat a regular summer service.
