Landsec wins consent for upgrade to south-east London mall
Lewisham Council has granted planning consent for a series of upgrades to the Lewisham shopping centre, which will be rebranded as Lewisham Place as part of the programme.
The 358,000-sq ft centre dates 1977 and is anchored by Argos, H&M, Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury’s and TK Maxx.
The town centre is undergoing a surge in residential development ahead of the planned arrival of the Bakerloo Line extension and the upgrade is aimed at improving visibility and connectivity, focussing on the centre’s six entrances. New materials – primarily timber, natural stone and stainless steel – and new graphics with a green and grey colour palette and will brighten up and refresh the space.
